In the 1990s, Omega began to take an interest in motor sport. In anticipation of Michael Schumacher's arrival at Ferrari, Omega decided to launch a Speedmaster Reduced "Schumacher" edition collection to celebrate his arrival at the Formula 1 team. This watch bears the reference 3810.12.40 and is distinguished by its yellow dial and red and black hands reminiscent of racing car counters. Its 39mm steel case houses the Omega 1143 calibre, which has a frequency of 28,800 vph, a power reserve of 42 hours and 45 jewels. The watch is fitted with a leather strap and a new Omega buckle.
