Here is this Baume & Mercier Classic Ultra-Thin Vintage, reference 1731, dating from circa 1970. An elegant dress watch distinguished by its slender case proportions and particularly understated aesthetic.

Its 31 mm stainless-steel case houses an elegant grey dial with a subtly satin finish. The design is deliberately minimalist, featuring long and very slender black hour markers together with two matching black hands displaying the hours and minutes. The Baume & Mercier Genève signature is positioned at 12 o’clock, while the absence of both a seconds hand and date window preserves the purity of the dial. The crown is adorned with a blue cabochon, adding a discreet touch of colour to the overall design.

The watch is powered by the Baume & Mercier BM 17001 calibre, based on the Peseux 7000. This hand-wound mechanical movement features 18 jewels, operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of approximately 42 hours.
