Seiko - Chronograph Crown Tokyo Olympic Games '64 Vintage Circa 1964 Ref. 45899
Here is this Seiko Crown Chronograph, reference 45899, dating from around 1964. This model holds an important place in Seiko's history, as it was the Japanese manufacturer's first wristwatch chronograph, introduced for the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games, where Seiko served as the official timekeeper.
Its 37 mm stainless-steel case features a bidirectional graduated bezel used to measure elapsed minutes. The brown-grey dial has a subtle sunburst finish, with applied baton hour markers and original luminous plots. The sword-shaped hour and minute hands also retain their original luminous material, while a slim central seconds hand completes the display.
The main feature of this model is its monopusher chronograph function, operated by a single pusher positioned at 2 o'clock. This pusher controls the start, stop and reset functions of the chronograph. Unlike traditional chronographs with subdials, elapsed minutes are measured using the rotating bezel.
The watch is powered by the manually wound Seiko calibre 5719A, featuring 21 jewels and providing approximately 38 hours of power reserve.
It is fitted with a new beige Saffiano leather strap and a generic stainless-steel pin buckle.
The watch comes with our 6-month warranty.
