Studio - Start Stop Reset Chronograph Manual Winding Vintage Circa 1980
Here is this Studio Start-Stop-Reset Chronograph, dating from around 1980. A vintage mechanical watch featuring an unusual timing function, different from that of a conventional chronograph.
Its 35 mm stainless-steel case features a silver-toned dial with applied gold-tone hour markers, alternating Arabic numerals and triangular indexes. The two gold-tone dauphine hands are accompanied by a slim red central seconds hand. A black minute track and a blue tachymeter scale run around the outer edge of the dial.
The watch features two pushers positioned at 2 and 4 o'clock. The upper pusher stops the red central seconds hand, while the lower pusher instantly resets it to 12 o'clock, after which it immediately resumes running. This mechanism can be described as a stoppable central seconds function with instant reset and restart, rather than a conventional chronograph with elapsed-time counters.
It is powered by the manually wound ETA 1168 movement, featuring 21 jewels, operating at 18,000 vibrations per hour and providing approximately 42 hours of power reserve. The movement will be checked and regulated as closely as possible to achieve the best possible timekeeping performance considering its age.
The watch is fitted with a new blue Saffiano leather strap and a generic stainless-steel pin buckle.
It comes with our 6-month warranty.
