Here is a double-signed Universal Genève J.W. Benson London – a vintage Triple Calendar in chrome-plated steel, reference 31305, dating from the 1950s.

This rare and exceptional collector’s piece features a 38mm chrome-plated steel case with a steel case back, housing a silvered dial with a patina and some signs of wear. The signatures of both brands are clearly visible and in very good condition on the dial. The dial also features bronze-colored indexes and dauphine hands.

Powered by the Universal Genève UG 291 manual-winding movement, this watch presents a triple calendar complication. The day is displayed at noon, while the month appears at six o'clock. It also features a small seconds subdial and a subdial dedicated to the date.

The watch is mounted on a caramel-colored saffiano leather strap. The case shows some signs of wear due to its age and chrome-plated steel composition.

J.W. Benson was one of the most prestigious watchmaking houses in London, founded in 1847 by James William Benson. Known for its high-quality watches and craftsmanship, the company distinguished itself by becoming one of the rare English watchmakers of the time, alongside the great Swiss manufacturers. After the dissolution of his partnership in 1855, Benson expanded the business, opening prestigious shops and participating in international exhibitions. The company received royal commissions and specialized not only in watches but also in fine jewelry and platinum objects. Although the workshop was destroyed during World War II, the brand continued to distribute watches from major houses such as Universal Genève. Today, J.W. Benson pieces have become highly sought-after collector’s items, reflecting a golden era of British watchmaking.

This exceptional piece is delivered with our box and our 6-month warranty.
