- Butex - Swiss Vintage Jumbo Manual Winding Circa 1960
Here is this Butex Swiss Vintage Jumbo, dating from around 1960. An elegant Swiss mechanical watch particularly distinguished by its generous 37 mm case, offering unusually attractive proportions for a piece from this period.
Its stainless-steel case houses a superb champagne-copper dial that has developed a beautifully warm and uniform tone over time. The composition remains deliberately understated, with applied Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock, complemented by small pearl-shaped hour markers and a fine peripheral minute track.
The time is displayed by two slender steel baton hands for the hours and minutes, contrasted by an elegant red central seconds hand that adds a subtle touch of colour to the dial. The Butex Suisse signature is positioned below 12 o’clock, while the “Antimagnetic” inscription appears at 6 o’clock.
It is powered by the manually wound AS 1184/94 calibre, featuring 17 jewels, operating at 18,000 vph and offering approximately 43 hours of power reserve. The movement will be regulated as closely as possible to achieve the best possible timekeeping performance considering its age.
The watch is fitted with a brown leather strap and a stainless-steel buckle.
It comes with our 6-month warranty on the movement.
