- Hamilton - Thin-O-Matic "Diamond Dial" Microrotor Cal. Buren 1000 Vintage Circa 1960
Here is this vintage Hamilton Thin-O-Matic “Diamond Dial”, dating from circa 1960. An elegant automatic watch distinguished both by its unusual dial and its remarkable micro-rotor movement.
Its 34 mm stainless-steel case houses an attractive silver-toned dial displaying a light patina. It alternates between applied gold-tone hour markers and diamond-set indexes, giving the watch a particularly distinctive presence. The Hamilton signature is positioned at 12 o’clock, while the stylised “thin-o-matic” inscription appears on the lower portion of the dial. Two slender central hands are complemented by a seconds hand featuring a contrasting red tip.
One of the most interesting features of this watch is found inside its case: its Hamilton 663 automatic micro-rotor movement, based on the Buren 1000A. The use of a micro-rotor allows the automatic winding system to be integrated directly into the architecture of the movement, contributing to the slim profile characteristic of the Thin-O-Matic.
This calibre features 17 jewels, operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. The movement will be regulated as closely as possible to achieve the best possible timekeeping performance considering its age.
It is fitted with a new brown leather strap and a generic stainless-steel buckle.
It comes with our 6-month warranty.
