Musette - Resist Diver Vintage Radium Circa 1940 Ref. 234 A

Here is this Musette Resist Diver, reference 234 A, dating from around 1940. A rare Swiss sports watch with a particularly strong character, today displaying a superb vintage aesthetic.

Its 34 mm stainless-steel case features a Skin Diver-style architecture, with elongated lugs and a robust construction typical of sports watches from this period. It houses a superb black gilt dial whose surface has developed a natural “spider” effect, creating a unique sense of patina and depth throughout the dial.

The large hour markers are filled with radium luminous material that has developed a beautiful warm tone over time. They are complemented by striking Broad Arrow hands, also featuring luminous material. The Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock, gilt inscriptions and peripheral minute track further enhance the character of this configuration. The “Ra” marking visible at 6 o’clock directly refers to the use of radium as the luminous material.

It is powered by a Musette-signed manually wound mechanical movement featuring 21 jewels. The movement will be regulated as closely as possible to achieve the best possible timekeeping performance considering its age.

The watch is fitted with a vintage black Tropic strap and a vintage stainless-steel buckle, perfectly complementing its period sports-watch aesthetic.
