Ophion - OPH 786 Vélos Radial Blue

Here is an Ophion OPH 786 Vélos Radial Blue, an independent Spanish timepiece that pays tribute to the finest pocket watches of the late 19th and early 20th centuries while offering a contemporary interpretation of high-end watchmaking. Produced in small batches, it stands out for both its elegant design and its beautifully reworked movement.

Its polished 39 mm stainless steel case features individually manufactured and hand-welded teardrop lugs, a construction rarely found at this price level. It frames a beautiful multilayered Radial Blue dial with a radial brushed finish whose colour shifts from deep blue to brighter metallic tones depending on the light. Rhodium-plated applied Breguet numerals, the raised railway minute track and the signature nickel-plated "Vélos" hands create an elegant display while highlighting the exceptional depth and construction of the dial.

The sapphire display case back reveals the impressive hand-wound OPH 786 manufacture calibre, developed by Soprod in collaboration with MHVJ and extensively redesigned to Ophion's own specifications. Its perfectly symmetrical architecture with independent bridges is directly inspired by antique pocket watch movements. The bridges feature Ophion's signature Grenaille finish inspired by historical techniques, complemented by machine-finished bevels, straight brushing and a rhodium-finished balance bridge that creates a striking contrast throughout the movement. The calibre features 26 jewels, beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers an outstanding 120-hour power reserve thanks to its twin-barrel construction.

The watch is fitted with a new beige leather strap and a generic stainless steel pin buckle.
